A spiced hibiscus tea with as many variations as there are regions in West Africa – probably many more. We take the dried hibiscus leaves and steep them in water with any myriad of spices and fruits. I even came across a recipe which added dried chili flakes! But i  couldn't wait until all my hibiscus flowers to dry up, so i went to my terrace garden found out a freshly bloomed Hibiscus flower, removed only the petals and started to Make a tea. The hibiscus flavor really came through and was accentuated by the spices. Hibiscus tea   has been known to prevent hypertension, lower blood pressure, reduce blood sugar levels, keep your liver healthy, help with menstrual cramps, help with depression, aid digestion and help with weight management.
